Bout of Books 13 - Progress

maio 11, 2015

I have no goals for this Bout of Books except this: TO READ. I've been in a kind of reading slump, I couldn't read any book in April, so I hope this read-a-thon will help me get through this and catch up on my readings. I will try to stay out of the internet, because everytime I find myself browsing I am just killing brain cells that could be used to read.

This post will serve to register my progress throughout the week. Let the games begin!

My Progress

Monday (Day 1)

Time devoted to reading: 2h30
Pages read today: 20% (more or less 30 pages) of Elric of Melnibone, by Michael Moorcock
Total pages so far: 30 pages
Books finished: 0
Notes: My reading was a bit slow today, because my brain melts with all this heat. But at night I started to really get into the story of the book and if I hadn't had to get up early the next morning I would read it all night.

Tuesday (Day 2)

Time devoted to reading: 1h45
Pages read today: 15%  (more or less 20 pages) of Elric of Melnibone, by Michael Moorcock
Total pages so far: 50 pages
Books finished: 0
Notes: Today I read mostly in the morning and the book I'm reading is getting really interesting, but I wasn't feeling very productive, so I read a bit less than yesterday. Anyway, I'm done with at least half of the book!

Wednesday (Day 3)

Time devoted to reading: 1h20
Pages read today: 10% (more or less 15 pages) of Elric of Melnibone, by Michael Moorcock
Total pages so far: 65 pages
Books finished: 0
Notes: It seems I am reading less and less, but today was atypical. My mother burned her hand while cooking so I had to do most of the chores and help her with some things around the house, and still manage to work on my thesis. So I read only a little bit at night, before going to bed. Let's see if I can read a bit more on thursday...

Thursday (Day 4)

Time devoted to reading: 1h15
Pages read today: 15% (more or less 20 pages) of Elric of Melnibone, by Michael Moorcock
Total pages so far: 85 pages
Books finished: 0
Notes: I am almost done with this book, I hope I can finish it on friday. Today was a very busy day and I could only read in the train while going to and coming back fom university, and a little bit before going to bed.

Friday (Day 5)

Time devoted to reading: 1h15
Pages read today: 23% (more or less 34 pages) of Elric of Melnibone, by Michael Moorcock which I finished!
Total pages so far: 119
Books finished: one
Notes: I managed to finish one book! Yay! I could only read in the train and a bit before going to bed because I really wanted to finish the book. I really liked it and I am happy that it seems that I am back on my reading track.

Saturday (Day 6)

Time devoted to reading: 0h
Pages read today: zero
Total pages so far: 119 pages
Books finished: one, Elric of Melnibone, by Michael Moorcock
Notes: Today I did some stuff related to a conference in which I will be participating at the end of the month and I took the night to catch up on Grey's Anatomy episodes and watched the season finale. I didn't feel like reading so instead I watched TV.

Sunday (Day 7)

Time devoted to reading: 30 minutes
Pages read today: 10 pages of 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke
Total pages so far: 129 pages
Books finished: one, Elric of Melnibone, by Michael Moorcock
Notes: Lazy Sunday... Also didn't feel like reading but I managed to read a little bit before falling asleep.

WRAP-UP!

And it's over again! Another Bout-of-Books has passed and another week of reading has gone. It has helped me to gain a reading routine, since I haven't been able to read since the month of April. I managed to read one book and start another, even though the last two days were lazy days and I didn't read as much as I could have. Anyway, I think the read-a-thon was positive for me and I can't wait for the next one! Here are the stats:

Total time devoted to reading: this read I read a total of 8 hours and 35 minutes. Not bad, since I was reading 0 hours...
Total pages read: 129 pages
Total books finished: just one, Elric of Melnibone, by Michael Moorcock and I managed to start 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke.
