Bout of Books 24 - Goals and Progress

janeiro 07, 2019

As it happened in previous Bout of Books, in this post I will state my goals as well as update my progress throughout the week.

My goals:

  • To read every day for, at least, one hour
  • Finish Motherhood, by Sheila Heti and start a new book

My Progress

Monday (Day 1)

Time devoted to reading: 30 minutes
Number of pages read today: 10 pages of Motherhood, by Sheila Heti
Total number of pages read so far: 10 pages
Notes: I am almost finished with this book, but unfortunately I didn't have the time to read more than what I have read.

Tuesday (Day 2)

Time devoted to reading: 45 minutes
Number of pages read today: 18 pages of Motherhood, by Sheila Heti
Total number of pages read so far: 28 pages
Notes: Although I didn't read one hour today, I have finally finished Motherhood! It was a good book, I will post my review soon in Portuguese, and I am ready to start a new book :)

Wednesday (Day 3)

Time devoted to reading: 40 minutes
Number of pages read today: 23 pages of The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, by Holly Ringland
Total number of pages read so far: 51 pages
Notes: Today I started a new book, but I couldn't read 1 hour straight. I fell asleep really early so I only found time to read while commuting, in the afternoon.

Thursday (Day 4)

Time devoted to reading: 25 minutes
Number of pages read today: 7 pages of The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, by Holly Ringland
Total number of pages read so far: 58 pages
Notes: I read so little, today! And when I could read I found hard to concentrate because I was really tired... Hopefully the next days will be better. But I'm really enjoying the book by Ringland!

Friday (Day 5)

Time devoted to reading: 45 minutes
Number of pages read today: 16 pages of The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, by Holly Ringland
Total number of pages read so far: 74 pages
Notes: Still can't manage to read one hour a day... But I am really enjoying this books and, the most important, I am reading every day!

Saturday (Day 6)

Time devoted to reading: 1 hour
Number of pages read today: 20 pages of The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, by Holly Ringland
Total number of pages read so far: 94 pages
Notes: I finally managed to read for an hour today! Since it is the weekend, I thought I would even read more, but I ended up organizing my bookshelves, cleaning my home, going to dinner with my parents, so I only read before I fell asleep. Nonetheless, it was a good day :)

Sunday (Day 7)

Time devoted to reading: 1 hour
Number of pages read today: 20 pages of The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, by Holly Ringland
Total number of pages read so far: 114 pages
Notes: I am really enjoying the book I'm reading and I'm glad I could fit in sometime to read as much as I did.

WRAP-UP

It's over! I really enjoyed participating in this Bout of Books because it helped me to regain the habit of reading everyday even if it is for a few minutes. It is important for me to get lost in a book and read everyday and this was a really good challenge to start the year.
My goals was to read everyday for at least one hour and to finish Motherhood and start another book. I didn't read for an hour everyday, but I read everyday so for me I accomplished my goals. It was really important for me to find time to read every single day even for half an hour. On the other hand, I was able to finish the book I was reading and to start a new one which I am loving - The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, by Holly Ringland.

Now, here are the stats for this read-a-thon:

Total time devoted to reading: 3 hours and 5 minutes
Total pages read: 114 pages
